      On December 1, the 2017 Hainan International Coffee Congress and Beverage Expo (referred to as Hainan International Coffee Expo) was grandly opened.

       Ren Hongbin, Chairman of SINOMACH, Deputy General Manager Ding Hongxiang and Liu Jingyu, Li Guoliang, Vice Governor of Hainan Province, Jia Chengbing, former Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of State Council, Fang Shaomin, Deputy Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Hainan Province, Mbelwa Kairuki, the Tanzanian Ambassador to China, Daniel Owassa, Ambassador of the Republic of the Congo to China, Li Longsheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Hainan Province, and Yang Sitao, Chairman of Haiken Group attended the opening ceremony. Li Longsheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Hainan Province and Zhang Fusheng, Chairman of China National Machinery Industry International Co., Ltd. (referred to as SINOMACHINT) addressed the opening ceremony. As coffee beans started flying from all parts of the world to Hainan on the large screen and guests poured their coffee into the giant coffee cup bearing the logo of the expo, a token indicating the invitation issued by Hainan to guests with the beverage, Vice Governor Li Guoliang announced the official opening of the exposition.

       After the opening ceremony, Chairman Ren Hongbin and Vice Governor Li Guoliang jointly met with diplomats and important foreign guests from various countries.

       Zhang Fusheng said in his speech that Hainan International Coffee Expo as the first exhibition project implemented by Central Enterprises in Hainan would draw on coffee as a link for building a platform for the coffee industry of countries around the world, to promote exchanges, strengthen cooperation and further deepen their economic and trade cooperation with Hainan.

       Six forums, seven exhibition areas, and four competitions were unfolded to jointly interpret the theme of the exhibition “Every fragrant drop for a fragrant world.” The Maritime Silk Road International Economic and Trade Exchange Forum and the International Coffee Industry Summit attracted top expert representatives from the international coffee industry. The four parallel sub-forums immediately following included the International Promotion Conference for Coffee Growing Nations, the Coffee Financing Forum, the Hainan Coffee Culture Inheritance, Innovation and Development Forum, and the Hainan Coffee-Bean Roasting Technology Seminar. The four concurrent coffee competitions were just as exciting as the 7 events in the “Belt and Road” Maritime Coffee Street and the Coffee Culture Street.

       A rich variety of activities including exhibitions, forums, dialogues, competitions and promotions were adopted at the event for building a new pattern of coffee circulation industry with outstanding characteristics, complementary advantages and strong core competitiveness. Those activities were intended to promote the role of Hainan as the frontier and a window for economic and trade exchanges on the “Maritime Silk Road”, so as to turn Hainan into a distribution center for the coffee industry of countries on the "Maritime Silk Road."

       The Hainan International Coffee Expo was jointly organized by the Department of Commerce of Hainan Province and SINOMACHINT, and jointly hosted by CMEC International Exhibition Co., Ltd., Haiken Group and Haikou HIMICE.
