Walk through 10 Year’s Extraordinary Journey, the Ninth Automechanika Shanghai Open Grandly

A further look at exhibitor figures for the 210,000 square metres show which consists of 17 established halls and seven temporary halls, reveals the following industry sector breakdown by square metre percentage increase compared to last year: Parts & Components, Repair & Maintenance, Accessories & Tuning show an increase of 10%, 20% and 100% respectively.
 
Through the 10 years, the exhibition has received widespread concern from the community and media. Leading representatives from NDRC, Ministry of Commerce, MIIT and other central government departments, officials of Zhejiang province and other local governments, representatives of foreign embassies, representatives of foreign trade organizations and media outlets, as well as related leadership of the organizer for the first time gathered in Shanghai New International Expo Center to witness the grand opening of this exhibition.
 
To commemorate the extraordinary decade of the exhibition, the organizers restored the opening ceremony which has been stopped for many years. Stephan Buurma, the Member of the Extended Board of Management Messe Frankfurt GmbH, and Xu Jian, the President of SINOMACH gave speech in the opening ceremony. They spoke highly of the achievements of Automechanika Shanghai’s 10 year’s development, expressed their good wishes for the future cooperation between both parties. Mr Buurma pointed that, Automechanika Shanghai, which has the largest amount of Chinese enterprises and industry leading brands, not only provides an important platform for Chinese enterprises to explore overseas markets, but also help Chinese enterprises to further expand international operations on the basis of consolidating the domestic market. Mr. Xu pointed out that the golden decade has gone, what is waiting for the show is more exciting diamond decade. In future, we should stand in a more macro perspective. In addition to pursuing a stable increase in size, we should make efforts to construct a brand new exhibition with more reasonable structure, richer exhibits, and more user-friendly service. At the end of the simple but warm opening ceremony, Mr. Xu and Mr. Buurma represented the two organizers pressed the red button together, which symbolized the official opening of the show, and also mean Automechanika Shanghai opened up a new era.
 

After the opening ceremony, SINOMACH’s President Xu Jian, Vice President Ding Hongxiang, Former President Wang Songlin, accompanied by company’s Chairmen of Board Zhang Fusheng, President Ji Xuecheng, and Vice President Cheng Yongshun, had a guide tour in the halls.
 

 
Then the Mr. Ding and Mr. Ji attended press conference together, and answered domestic and foreign media’s questions regarding on the current development status of China's auto market, the trend of future development of China's auto parts industry, changes in the business model of the exhibition industry, and the secret of win-win cooperation.
 

 
The total number of exhibitors for the four-day show is 4,618, representing 38 countries and regions: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, The Netherlands, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA and Vietnam.  This year there is a 15 per cent increase in international exhibitors based on 523 international exhibitors in 2013 and 453 for our latest show. In terms of Chinese exhibitors, this year there is 4,095 which represents an increase of 12 percent matched against the 3,656 exhibitors for the 2012 show. 
 
Altogether this year’s show has attracted 17 pavilions with first time pavilions from Australia, Poland and Tunisia. The returning pavilions are from France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UK and USA.
 
The show is also attracting new key auto brands as well as returning exhibitors that include: Parts & Components----- Hitachi, IBI, BAIC, BorgWarner; Repair & Maintenance ------ ALFI ,Beissbarth, Berton, Hennessy; Accessories & Tuning ------ ABT, Eni, Carlas, Spacekey.
 
The number of local and international visitors is more than 80,000. Boosting the number are visitor groups from all over the world including Australia, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Poland, Russia, and Turkey. From China, more delegations from second and third-tier cities are coming, including Anhui, Fujian, Guangdong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Shandong, Shijiazhuang and Sichuan.
 
As well as being Asia’s largest trade fair for auto parts, accessories, equipment and services, the show is recognised for its diverse range of fringe programme subjects, catering to all industry sectors. This year’s show offers 40 fringe programmes, 10 more than last year. Highlights include:

The brand of Automechanika was firstly appearing in Frankfurt of Germany. With the gradual growth, it was finally settled in the Chinese market in 1997. Since established in 2004, Automechanika Shanghai has developed for 10 years. Now it is Asia’s largest auto show, and the world's second-largest international trade fair for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services, following only its namesake Automechanika show in Frankfurt, Germany.
